Frequently Asked Questions
In order to help you with any subscription concerns, SHOOT has created a list of frequently asked questions and answers about subscriptions to SHOOT Magazine print edition.
When will my subscription begin?
Only a limited number of free subscriptions are available. In some instances, due to heavy demand, you may not receive your first issue until several months after you submit your completed subscription form. U.S. and Canadian subscriptions are normally processed within 4 to 6 weeks after receipt of your order. Subscriptions from subscribers outside the U.S. and Canada are normally processed within 4 to 8 weeks.
Why are some subscriptions free while others are not ?
SHOOT is audited once a year according to BPA audit regulations. In order to comply with these regulations, only qualified readers can receive a free subscription. Those subscribers who do not fall under the qualifications must purchase a subscription.
Does a print subscription include registration to SHOOTonline.com?
No. Our online database and print database are separate distribution lists and unrelated. And, getting our eNewspapers - also FREE - does not mean you are automatically registered at SHOOTonline.com to access and view video such as “Top Spot of the Week.” To access and view video at SHOOTonline.com you MUST register (free) online as well. To register online at SHOOTonline.com click here.
Do you accept credit cards, and is your site secure?
Yes, you may order a new subscription or renew an existing subscription online via the internet. We accept American Express, VISA, and MasterCard on our secure sever.
Why do I have to keep filling out subscription forms?
Our files must be updated once a year according to BPA audit regulations. This also helps our editors target the content of the magazine to those who read it.
Why do I have to provide my email address for a print subscription to SHOOT?
Providing your e-mail is necessary as you are granting SHOOT permission to contact you regarding your subscription (i.e. renewal notice) and to send eNewpapers (SHOOT >e.dition, Brand New[s], and ScreenWork) if you have requested them. SHOOT DOES NOT SELL, RENT, TRADE, BARTER OR GIVE EMAIL ADDRESSES OUT TO THIRD PARTIES.
How do I change my mailing address?
To change your mailing address, please use our Online Change of Address Form.

Please note that since we prepare mailing labels far in advance, we need at least eight weeks’ notice to ensure uninterrupted service of your SHOOT Magazine subscription. Please be sure to give us both your old address (exactly as it appears on your magazine label) and your new address when making an address change. Or you may also email subscriber service directly with your old and new address information.
What is my subscriber account number?
Your subscriber account number is the seven digit numeric code located above your name on the magazine label.

When does my subscription expire?
Your subscription expiration date is printed on the mailing label of your magazine. It is located to the right of your name and is formatted by month and year, e.g. “Feb 08”. In the upper left-hand corner directly above your name is your unique subscriber number. Always include this number in any correspondence to use to ensure prompt service. (Better still, include your actual label whenever possible).
What should I do if I didn’t receive an issue?
Let us know about a missed issue by emailing subscriber services directly at circulation@shootonline.com. We’ll either mail that issue to you or extend your subscription by one issue.
Why did I receive another renewal notice when I have already paid for my subscription?
Your payment and our notice probably just crossed each other. If you get another renewal notice, please contact us by emailing subscriber services directly and we’ll straighten out the problem.
I changed my address already, why is SHOOT still being mailed to my old address?
We prepare the mailing labels for our magazines far in advance. When you contact us to change your address, your request is processed immediately. However, the change sometimes doesn’t take effect for one to two issues because those labels have been preaddressed.
Will my name be added to other mailing lists?
From time to time, we find other products, services or events that would be of interest to our readers. In such cases, we allow qualified, professional organizations to access our USPS mailing list (not email mailing list). If you would prefer not to receive these mailings, please send us a request to remove your name from our promotional file.
